Accelerated Reader is coming to Vista Magnet Middle School! Accelrated Reader leveling tests have been administered and your child now has a password and a recommended reading level.
Currently, AR quizzes are available to your child only at school, but you can check out the Renaissance Learning (AR) website together using this address:
Or click here to find a book:
Soon you will be able to use Destiny to find AR leveled books in our library's collection! After the holidays we will begin to have a plan in place for how the Accelerated Reader program will be part of your child's learning experience here at Vista Magnet.

Greetings! Welcome to our library! We are open Monday through Friday from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Come join us at lunch each day and for chess club on Wednesdays.
Also, we are currently seeking donations to update our library resources and books for students. Please contact me regarding any donations.
Great things are happening in our library! Thanks to your donations and our Book Fair, we have added 387 new titles in our fiction and non fiction sections. We also continue to host Chess Club at lunch time every Wednesday. Our 10 library computers are busy throughout lunch and during class time.
Thanks to many parent and student volunteers, we now have "flipped" the library so that the reference books are on the left, followed by non fiction and fiction. There is also a large section of free books for our students: all of the 3411 copies that have been weeded (due to age) are looking for a good home!
Maybe you'd like to help! Here are some ways that you can donate to the library:
* Students can earn Community and Service credit by using their free time (lunch) to help in the library. Please stop by to sign up for a time and to get trained.
* Starting February 7, The Vista and Oceanside Starbucks will be hosting a Book Drive that could benefit schools across the district. Information will be in the area Starbucks stores after February 7.
* Donate your books! Books that are less than 10 years old often go right into our collection. Other books go to classrooms or on our 'Free' books shelf.
Stats for the previous month:
Top Titles: (books checked out the most times) Hunger Games, Diary of a Wimpy Kid series
Circulation: (times people have checked out books) 519
Computers: (times students logged on to computers) 422
Additions : (how many new books have been added) 387
