AUTOMATED PHONE CALL - Monday, October 17, 2011 - At approximately 2:50 pm the Sheriff department contacted us regarding two suspicious individuals who were seen near Main Street at the Hennessey's Restaurant with a suspicious object or weapon. The Principal, Assistant Principal and Campus Supervisor ensured that the campus was clear during the lockdown. Five minutes later we received the call that they were apprehended. The teacher and students did a great job during lock down. They stayed quite, closed their blinds and were no students were found wandering the halls. This morning you may have heard that there was a car accident in front of the administration office at approximately 8:40am. This involved two private residents and not any family or student of VMMS. The principal and school nurse assisted the folks in the cars while emergency personnel.

How do we communicate @ VMMS?

Moodle: We continued our parent communication since the inception of this school from Blackboard to Moodle. Are you curious what your students is learning? Has your child lost their rubric? Your next question to your child should be "Log me into your Moodle account!"

Phone Calls (Automated):
We average one call a week on a variety of topics from weekly activities to grade level announcements

TWITTER: Our account @vistamagnet was established last summer to share with any interested followers to follow Dr. V's (Principal) observations on day to day events on campus and provide National/State/Local educational topics through various news agencies that may be of interest

Website (
www.vistamagnet.com): We make a concerted effort to update the website three times a week with a summary of the Phone Calls (Automated) and also share any useful links

Flyers: Our Administration office will distribute flyers to students on Wednesdays ONLY in order to ensure that they communicate with you about fundraisers, event announcements and other important dates

Letters (mailed home): During the year, you will receive letters covering various topics

Emails: By utilizing email, you will find a more convenient way to communicate with VMMS staff, you can find teachers' email
