Welcome to Vista Magnet Middle School (VMMS). Since we opened our campus with the theme of Math, Science and Technology in the fall 2007, we have found great success as a diverse learning community. You might have done your research on our campus and noticed that our state scores, however, we are more than test scores. We work each day to close the achievement gap with our students who have not reached their potential and continue to push our students who by all measures reached success.
Over the past five years we have developed a school that truly reaches the whole child. This was possible through the work with the IBMYP philosophy and practice. We hope you decide to join us in this great, new educational opportunity. This new venture gives us the chance to provide students with an alternative choice to the traditional middle school offerings, with enhanced curricula and experiences in the areas of technology, science and math.
Our school will be led by three goals:
ENGAGE - to provide distinct choices for students with different interests, talents, and aptitudes;
ACHIEVE - to develop innovative instructional practices which aid student success; and
BELONG - to develop a sense of community and promote diversity within schools.
