Q: Where can I find the admissions application? A: Applications are available at our office or can be downloaded here.
Q: How are students selected? A: Approximately 200 6th grade students will be selected for the 2010-2011 school year. Approximately fifty seats are reserved for each of the four VUSD middle school boundaries(Madison, Rancho Minerva, Roosevelt and Washington). Ten additional seats are reserved for out of the district students.
Students entering 7th and 8th grade are also encouraged to apply during these application periods.
A lottery system (computerized random selection) will be used to fill remaining seats. Selection will be based on a first-come-first-served basis. Only complete applications will be considered. The application packet includes a student self-assessment, parent assessment, essay,and a data/information form.
Q: When does my student apply for admissions? A: Given the limited number of seats, students and parents are strongly encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible. Applications submitted during spring 2010 following dates are:

Q: Where do I turn in the admissions application? A: Applications may be mailed to Vista Magnet Middle School, 151 Escondido Ave., Vista, CA 92084. Mailed applications must be postmarked by the stated deadlines. Applications may also be hand delivered to the our school site.
Q: How will I be notified? A: Parents will be notified by phone as to whether their student was accepted.
Q: Will the school provide transportation? A: No. We understand this is a critical issue for our parents. We will address this issue each year. Currently, students need to find transportation to and from school.
